The day before, I was treated to a winery tour and tasting. But the most memorable part? Seeing these special bottles of wine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Local elementary school children had written messages to their future selves on the labels. The winery then saves these bottles and returns them on their 20th birthday. So sweet!<\/span><\/p>\n

It made me wonder: <\/span>What message would you send to your future self?<\/b><\/p>\n

This reminds me of the song Tegami by Angela Aki (which always makes me cry at karaoke!).<\/span><\/p>\n

And this is actually an exercise I use in some workshops. Participants write a letter to themselves, which I later mail back to them. It\u2019s always a joy to receive an encouraging note from your past self!<\/span><\/p>\n

Want to have a go?<\/b> Take a moment today to write a short message to your future self. Seal it in an envelope and set a date to open it. If you’re going through a challenging time, even one week from now could be helpful.<\/span><\/p>\n

(I believe in walking my talk and I just took a few minutes to write a letter to myself for April 1! \ud83d\udc95)<\/span><\/p>\n

And here\u2019s another powerful step:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pause and ask, \u201cWhat would my future self say to me right now?\u201d<\/b>
\n<\/b>
\n<\/b>Take a deep breath. Let the words come. You may even want to write them down.<\/span><\/p>\n

(I just did this too. Took a little bit longer.)<\/span><\/p>\n
