The word “facilitate” comes from the Latin “facilis,” which means easy. It’s the facilitator’s role to make it EASY for everyone to achieve the meeting objectives. I help them to do that by using fundamental facilitation skills. I also teach techniques to address problems that arise during meetings and get everyone back on track for meaningful results.

Meaningful Meetings and Conference Calls – 8-hour workshop

Overview

In this workshop, participants learn the fundamentals of global meeting facilitation and build personal presence and confidence. Content includes

  • gaining alignment
  • clarifying meeting goals, roles, and ways to proceed
  • brainstorming
  • decision making
  • optimizing the meeting venue and equipment
  • dealing with difficult situations (e.g., people speaking too much or too little, going off topic, differences of opinion, people arriving late or leaving early)

Duration

8 hours, including one hour for lunch and two 15-minute breaks

Meaningful Meetings and Conference Calls – 2 x 3-hour sessions

Overview

The objectives and content of this option are the same as for the 8-hour workshop above. Some clients prefer this option of two sessions of three hours each because it may be easier to schedule than a full day. This option also gives participants the opportunity to put what they learned into practice in the first session and build on it in the second.

2 x 3-hour sessions, including a 15-minute break, scheduled 1-2 weeks apart
