Have you heard the saying, “If you want something done, ask a busy person”?

Some attribute this to Lucille Ball. Others to Benjamin Franklin.

No matter who said it first, it still rings true today, right?

That’s because busy people get lots done. And they keep saying “Yes” to more.

And if you’re the busy person in question, you probably recognize that you find it very difficult to say “No.”

Yes, I’ve been there too.

In fact, one time in my year-end feedback during my corporate days, my boss quoted a colleague as saying, “Helen finally said no.”

This was after I’d been taken to hospital from work in an ambulance because I’d been pushing myself so hard…

Now, as a recovered overdoing, perfectionist people-pleaser, I’m passionate about supporting business professionals in Japan and beyond – especially women – to start thinking and behaving differently, so that they can do GREAT work without burning out.

In Episode 193 of the Sasuga! Podcast, you’ll hear

  • Why we keep saying “Yes” even when it’s not good for us
  • 2 practical approaches to say “No” in a constructive way
  • How to adjust to your boss’s communication style

Enjoy!
