What if you’re unintentionally annoying your global colleagues – especially global leaders – and clients?

That would be bad, right?

As part of my work coaching Japanese managers and executives in business communication skills, I sometimes speak with their senior colleagues and receive their input on the areas that they want people to improve.

One area that global leaders often want their Japanese colleagues to improve is in answering questions.

This topic is related to Episode 40 – Conclusion First Or Last? If you haven’t already, you may want to listen to that.

Generally speaking, Japanese business people have a tendency to focus on details and take time to reach a conclusion.

While there are differences among nationalities and individuals, generally speaking, Western business people like to be direct and get to the conclusion fast.

In Episode 41 of the Sasuga! Podcast, you’ll hear

  • 3 reasons why you may not be answering questions effectively
  • How to avoid making things worse with an already resistant audience
  • The elegant way to respond when you don’t understand a question

Enjoy!
