A reader of the free monthly newsletter Sasuga! Tips For You recently emailed to suggest that I host a webinar on “how to participate in webinars and use them to your advantage.”

So that’s what I’m doing 08:00-08:30 on Tuesday, October 27, Japan time.

Part one: I’ll show you how to participate in a webinar and outline how you can benefit from webinars.

Part two: I’ll answer your questions about communication – in English or Japanese. What do you find difficult – giving presentations, facilitating meetings, working with global teams? This is your chance to ask anything you like!

If you’d like to join, simply register here. It’s free.

So what is a webinar?

A webinar is seminar conducted over the Internet. All you need to participate is a device that’s connected to the Internet, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. So easy!

Registering – When you register for a webinar, you enter your name and email address. You then receive an email with a link.

Joining – At the scheduled time, click on the link and the webinar will open in your browser. You’ll see a slide presentation on your screen and a control panel to the right.

Checking – I’ll be online 10 minutes early (from 07:50) to help everyone check that the equipment works and feel comfortable.

What you see and hear – You’ll be able to hear my voice (remember to use earphones if you’re listening in a public place) and see the slides as I progress through a brief presentation.

Participant interaction – You can type questions or comments into your control panel at any time in English or Japanese. I’ll answer as many as I can in the time that we have.

Recording – I’ll record the webinar and share it with everyone who registers, so that you can watch it at your leisure.

Webinars are becoming hugely popular way as a way to learn about new topics and build expertise. Join this webinar to find out how easy they are to use and how you can benefit from them. And remember you can ask me any questions about communication during the Q&A part.
