As part of the intensive training to become a facilitator for the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers (of which I am no longer affiliated), I tracked how I spent my time in 30-minute segments for two weeks. Around 40 percent of my time fell under the category of “administrative work” – work that I wasn’t hugely excited about and could ask someone else to do. If I did, I could focus on what I felt would benefit others more, such as designing and delivering workshops or maybe writing more blog posts. I needed an assistant.

Soon after I had this revelation, Yumi, a colleague from my McKinsey days with outstanding administrative skills, happened to contact me to say that she would be moving from Tokyo to Seoul and was exploring new work possibilities. What luck! We met for lunch and talked and agreed that Yumi would start supporting Sasuga! Communications part-time from June.

Recently, I’ve been delivering a number of workshops outside Japan, and it’s been fabulous to be able to check emails at the end of a long day and find that Yumi has followed up with clients where needed and taken care of other administrative tasks. If you contact Sasuga! Communications, I hope Yumi can help to make your life easier too.

Welcome to Sasuga! Communications, Yumi. I’m thrilled to be working with you again.
