Have you ever noticed how odd it is that so many of us feel GREAT when we have an opportunity to help others and yet we’re often reluctant to ask for help?
This realization came to me the other day as I was crossing a road in the middle of Shinjuku. A man was carrying a little girl. I guess she was his daughter. She dropped her hat, but neither of them noticed, and he kept walking.
I ran to pick up the hat from the middle of the road and caught up with them.
Just at that point, the little girl noticed she’d lost her hat and looked like she was about to have a meltdown.
Then they saw me running up with the hat. Their faces lit up.
I felt happy too.
This is just a teeny-tiny example of how doing something for someone else can help them AND makes you feel great too.
