“The most common form of stress that we experience is the feeling of being overwhelmed with far too much to do and having too little time to do it in.”

– Brian Tracy International

The other day, I asked participants in an online training their biggest problem with planning. The chat lit up with responses like these:

“I have too much that I want to do” (やりたいことが多すぎる)

“I underestimate how much time things will take” (見積時間を少なくしすぎる)

“I seem to be under the illusion that I can create time!” (時間は作り出せるものという、幻想を持っている)

Sound familiar?

I’ve struggled with these sorts of thoughts throughout my career.

And then I became fascinated with productivity techniques and how the brain works – and I repeatedly experimented with ways to do things differently and started to introduce these new approaches to my corporate clients and online students to help them to excel in their work without feeling stressed and exhausted.

Especially now, as I write this during the ongoing lockdowns around the world and the state of emergency in Japan, I believe it’s even more important for us to take care of our physical and mental health and do what we can to lower our stress levels while still doing great work.

So I wanted to share with you 3 keys to ease that feeling of “Too much to do and too little time” I hope you find these eye-opening and valuable as I did.
