– a conversation with Shu Matsuo Post
Do you consider yourself a feminist?
I didn’t until recently.
Despite long being an enthusiastic linguist, I’d never looked up the dictionary definition of “feminism.”
I associated “feminism” with confrontation, being anti-men, and a sort of narrow or inflexible thinking.
Well, reading the book I Took Her Name and chatting with the author, Shu Matsuo Post, changed all that!
In Episode 108 of the Sasuga! Podcast, in addition to what feminism really is and some surprising stats and facts from Japan, you’ll also hear
- The secret to making paternity leave a possibility in Japan
- How Shu’s embarrassing comment in a huge conference led to unexpected opportunities (a good lesson for the next time you “make a fool of yourself”)
- How taking action and making lots of mistakes is a fast-track to learning
Enjoy!
