– a conversation with Brittany Arthur
After weeks of fighting with her body, she realized this wasn’t working for anyone.
Even though she wanted to have the energy to keep delivering outstanding work to her Japanese clients, her body was saying “No.”
It was the first trimester of her pregnancy, and she needed more rest.
She reframed her thinking from “working in spite of her body” to “working with her body.”
Almost immediately, things improved exponentially.
In Episode 179 of the Sasuga! Podcast, I’m chatting with Brittany Arthur, Co-founder and Director of Design Thinking Japan, host of the Business Karaoke Podcast, and founder of the ToYoko Design Thinking Network.
You’ll hear
- What pregnancy has taught her about selfcare (and you don’t have to be pregnant to apply it)
- The importance of making sure that you’re solving the RIGHT problem before solving the problem and the value of everyone having a voice – from the CEO to the most junior team member
- How an organization’s problem of increased sick leave at the end of every month was solved when one thing became clear
Enjoy!
