– a conversation with Tracy Gopal
It’s a good time to be a woman in corporate Japan, according to Tracy Gopal, CEO of Third Arrow Strategies and the Japan Board Diversity Network.
Why is that?
It’s because things are evolving.
Granted, not all companies have changed. It’s not necessarily easy, and it’s not an equal playing field yet.
But with the shift in work style in recent years – including no longer being under pressure to go out every night drinking with colleagues or attending dinners with clients – and with female-friendly KPIs and company quotas to hire and promote more women, it’s a time of opportunity.
Japan needs you!
And the good news is that women who are willing to step up are supported now more than ever by trailblazers like Tracy Gopal, other diversity advocates, and women who have already made it to the top and are encouraging more females to join them in the boardroom.
Wherever you are in your career right now, I’m sure you’ll find inspiration in Episode 202 of the Sasuga! Podcast. You’ll hear my conversation with Tracy, including
- How Tracy persisted and found clarity on how to use her unique skills and talents for a social purpose
- How women on the board can have a huge influence on societal change by demonstrating excellence, promoting diversity, and challenging the status quo
- How overseas investors are evaluating corporate governance in Japan by observing trends in diversity on the board and throughout the company
Enjoy!
