a conversation with Yuko

When Yuko suddenly became company president at the age of 30, it felt weird to her that people started calling her “Shacho.”

It sounded so masculine and she felt really awkward at first.

And when she met her business counterparts – mostly men who were older than her, they questioned whether she could really be the president.

So how did Yuko demonstrate confidence and build trusting relationships with business leaders as well as with her new team of 40 people, which continues to grow?

In Episode 95 of the Sasuga! Podcast, I’m chatting with Yuko Nakao, president of a Japanese media company, and she shares

  • Top tips to look and sound confident in business even when you’re not
  • What we can learn from Japanese comedienne and vlogger Fuwa-chan about communication
  • How to help colleagues and new hires to feel comfortable, so that they can be happy and perform at their best, even while work-from-home and social distancing continue

Enjoy!
