What does success mean to you?
Have you ever paused to consider that?
Perhaps you look at other people and see them as successful.
You may like the idea of being successful (even if you sometimes doubt that it’s really possible for you).
But how do you know you’re successful if you haven’t defined success for yourself?
According to the Cambridge Dictionary,
success is “the achieving of the results wanted or hoped for.”
Hmm, so that means that success isn’t something fixed by societal beliefs.
Your success ultimately depends on what YOU want or hope for.
And what each person wants or hopes for can be very different, right?
For example, based on the Forbes article 10 Women Leaders Define What “Success” Means To Them, success could be
- Doing work you love
- Being genuinely happy with the end result
- Having a positive impact on others
- Working with people you love
- Having a healthy lifestyle
- Not sacrificing your personal life or freedom
- Integrating achievements in your personal and professional life, community, and family
- Feeling valued
- Growing, sharing, and enjoying
- Living your purpose
