a conversation with Natsuyo N. Lipschutz

If you’re like most people, you probably think that public speaking is terrifying, right?

But Japan-born Natsuyo N. Lipschutz has a different perspective – and that’s not just because she’s a professional speaker in the U.S.

Natsuyo says that speaking is healing.

This was especially her experience in early 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

After initially falling into depression due to the massive changes in her work and family life, she found that speaking was healing in two ways.

First, she found it healing to talk to her close friends about her struggles. She just wanted someone to listen to her.

Second, she found it healing as she rehearsed for her public speaking and as she actually shared her own stories with her audiences. And of course, it was healing for them too because they could apply her personal messages to their own lives.

In my conversation with Natsuyo in Episode 81 of the Sasuga! Podcast, you’ll also hear:

  • How you’re really missing out if you’re expecting data, case studies, and logic to persuade in your business presentations
  • How two words from Nate – an American student – changed Natsuyo’s life and became her mantra (and these words can have a big impact on you too)
  • Why a smaller English vocabulary can actually be an advantage for you as an effective speaker

Enjoy!
