– a conversation with Arisa Ido

Every month, he would visit.

She called him “Sam, the professional boxer”…

Relentlessly practicing his punches inside poor Arisa’s womb.

She suffered in silence for 3 years before finally asking her boss for a change in her work style because of severe period pains. Surprised at first because no one had raised this taboo subject before, Arisa’s boss was understanding and supportive.

Arisa Ido shared this story to launch her Ladies Be Open campaign during her time with HuffPost Japan.

This was the first of three life-changing projects where Arisa realized the significance of sharing personal stories to impact society.

In our tell-it-like-it-is conversation in Episode 132 of the Sasuga! Podcast, you’ll hear

  • The importance of teamwork and asking for help
  • What happened when Arisa experimented with not wearing makeup for 30 days
  • The power of Japanese male CEOs expressing their regret over not spending enough time with their children when they were young (get your tissues ready for this!)

Enjoy!
